On September 9, 2011, Brett Greenwood, former Hawkeye football player, collapsed during a routine workout. Brett had developed an abnormal heart rhythm, which caused his heart to stop, resulting in serious neurological injuries. Brett is recovering and working hard to regain his strength and mobility.
The Brett Greenwood Foundation values the trust its donors place in the organization and adheres to the highest standards in gathering, using and safeguarding their information. This includes all of their personal data, giving history and any donor information we collect and/or track.
Sharing/Accessing Information We Collect
If you choose to contribute to the Brett Greenwood Foundation, you complete a donation form that asks you to provide us with your name, address, e-mail address, and pledge information.
The Brett Greenwood Foundation will not rent, trade, sell or share any information about its donors without express written consent from the donor.
The Brett Greenwood Foundation directors or employees who may access your information in order to perform contribution processing and/or administrative functions are prohibited from disclosing your information to third parties without your consent.
Organizations that provide operational or other support services to us must also agree to safeguard your information in strict compliance with our Privacy Policy.
Your Participation is Voluntary
Your relationship with the Brett Greenwood Foundation is voluntary and confidential. There are times when we publicly recognize and thank donors, volunteers and other stakeholders for their generosity. This may require us to occasionally release a list of names and possible organizational affiliations. In such cases, other organizations and third parties will have access to these names and possible giving levels.
We may also use your information to send acknowledgement of your gift information and anything we think you may find of interest about the Brett Greenwood Foundation. If you do not wish to receive such communications, you may let us know at any time by contacting us. In addition, every e-mail message you receive from us will include instructions on how to unsubscribe.
Our Commitment to Data Security
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put procedures in place to safeguard and secure the information, to the best of our ability. Firewalls prevent outside unauthorized parties from accessing our database and internal Brett Greenwood Foundation access to the database is restricted to authorized individuals.
